Writing can be an amazing tool. Tracking our selves (that is: our lives, our thoughts, our ideas, our feelings, our inter-relationships) on paper can help us to understand ourselves and the world around us. Through such understanding and increased awareness, we grow ever more whole, even in the midst of life's greatest challenges. And life is a matter of constant challenge, continual change because change keeps us--and everything else--growing.
Our task is to keep evolving, while also remaining centered, whole. Writing can help us become aware of how our lives are evolving and of what our lives are asking of us. When times are most difficult, focus can make an enormous difference. Writing can keep us on track--keep us aware of where and how we are focusing. Once we are aware, we can begin to make more conscious choices about how we see and feel about ourselves and the world around us.
THE POWER OF WORDS
Creations stories have long recognized the Power of Words, the Power of Naming. Words--what people say and think about us and what we say and think about ourselves and our lives--plant seeds of expectation which grow to beliefs, and what we believe, we cause to manifest.
Words call things into being. With words, we can create or re-create. Words can be tools or traps, depending on how we use them, depending on how others use them for us or against us. Think of a time in your life when someone told you that you were stupid or couldn't do something, or a time when you were told you were wonderful and would succeed--remember how these words made you feel, how you were impacted.
Through writing, we can re-create our experiences, our world, our selves. Words can crystallize, catalyze, take us back to a prior experience and purge it, transform it, give a memory back into our hands where we now choose how to hold it, use it, mold it. When we take control of words, through writing, we take back our stories, our lives--our birthrights.
